Diploma Thesis AUTH This study struggles to renegotiate the notion of public space, using as starting point the urban-artistic phenomenon graffiti. It presents the power of these extraordinary marks to operate as channels of communication. Appropriation of the public realm through an illegal, yet existing, activity also poses a question. This sometimes unapproved action recalls on the tapis the existing, yet forgotten, debate about public and private space.
