School and Prison in the Society of Discipline: Graffiti and Tattoo as Indiscipline Signs on Space and Body
This study investigates the relationship between school and prison in morphological and decretory level, as well as the reason why graffiti takes place in schools and why inmate’s body becomes common canvas for tattoos. The aim isn’t to study authority through the dualism authority vs man, but the relationships between men on interpersonal level inside the inner-social structures. As far as graffiti and tattoo are concerned, they are under investigation in order to be seen that these designs have an inherent power to show a discreet and symbolic resistance: an opposition to the micro-nature of authority through a micro-intervention in space or body.
